these strategic changes shift away from a U.S./international management model to a global structure approach. In other words, they are offshoring more jobs to cheaper countries. And if you doubt it, keep in mind that splitting WB and Discovery means they will ultimately need more headcount, not less.

How is it a judgment on his whole life? It's more that Billy Madison was the first to put down the Sandler formula of lovable idiot faces challenge that attracts a beautiful woman way out of his league. It's more that basically every comedy film he's made since then has followed that same formula, which just makes them highly derivative of the stellar original. Also, it's notable that Billy Madison featured Chris Farley, and the loss of Chris Farley to future Sandler films was honestly a huge blow. He could have potentially been in Happy Gilmore but wasn't, and by the time Sandler was making The Wedding Singer Farley had passed. I am fairly sure it was also the only one that featured Norm MacDonald as well (but I'm not 100% sure on that, didn't follow the more recent ones as closely). Steve Buscemi, on the other hand, has been a staple in Sandler film casts since the beginning, and his role on Billy Madison was one of the best. So it's really more that Billy Madison built the formula, had the best cast overall, and was just lightning in a bottle that it felt like he spent a career trying to recreate the exact conditions that made Billy Madison so good. EDIT: One final piece of why Billy Madison works where other Sandler films don't work as well (except maybe The Water Boy): Billy Madison's real villain isn't Eric Gordon, who wants to stop Billy so Eric can take over the company. The real villain is Madison's own loser past, where he has consistently shown himself to be a contemptuous, boorish fool. His own past behavior is why nobody has faith that he will succeed, and he has to overcome people's prior expectations of him to succeed. Some of the only people who have faith in him are the young children that he befriended while he was in elementary school. Happy on the other hand has that epic swing and all he has to do is practice the rest of golf. Shooter McGavin is also a more sympathetic villain because he's an actual professional being showed up by this jerk amateur who acts like he's king shit because he can hit long drives. Billy Madison just works better thematically, overall, because Billy is actually, genuinely awful at everything and has to start at the absolute bottom where Happy comes in already halfway good by pure chance.

Ghost of War (2020) - Decent WW2 Nazi occult horror that turned out to be somewhat unique. It's not a great movie, but I think fans of horror/thrillers will enjoy it. Les Visiteurs (1993) - French comedy from my childhood with Christian Claver and Jean Reno. A fun middle ages to the 90s time travel comedy. A little stupid at times, but funny and wholesome. Orion's Key (1996) - A dumb scifi-action b-movie about an alien artifact found in Africa. I enjoyed it, but I would only recommend it if you like sci-fi and 90s b-movies.

Zootopia 1 was a cool movie, hopefully the sequel will be at least as good.

I don't know. I'm usually ready to watch a meandering film with slow pacing, but I know people who won't put up with that, so I might like movies you find unwatchable. In contrast, there's a subset of French slice-of-life movies that I just generally dislike while other people love them. Anyway, I've only seen 4 Tarkovsky films, and they all move more slowly than, say, a superhero blockbuster. Of those 4, I guess the most accessible is Solaris. Some days/weeks later, I'd watch Andrei Rublev as a change of pace, then after another wait try Stalker. Those should be enough to give you a feel for the director, and then maybe you can try Mirror and tell me what I'm missing. I feel like a bunch of symbolism is going over my head. Are those Maoists shaking little red books? What does that evoke from a Russian perspective?

Beau is Afraid is a really unique special movie. As a whole it might not be a great movie but parts of it are great.

It's kind of wild! In daylight scenes, the whole theater lights up because of 3 projectors. LOL.

Dropping a million bucks on a theater in a beach community that will show classic movies…is a waste of money. Ignoring that the theater already went out of business once. Beach Vacationers don’t see movies at the beach unless there are prolonged periods of bad weather. It would have made more sense to buy a couple of condos and hen rent them to the vacationers.

What the fuck, where does a movie cost that much? I'm already astounded to have to pay 12 bucks for a movie and then another 8 or so for popcorn and drinks. Can definitely go for cheaper in smaller theaters though.
