I largely agree. Qubes may not be as user friendly as others, but honestly I think it is the only OS which can get close to Android's level of security (of course, by taking a hammer to most privilege escalation problems). I have heard about Accrescent but I'll wait till it gets more popular before I jump. Google being broken up might mean the beginning of a demise of both Chromium and Firefox. So we better get on a new engine quick or things are about to get a lot worse. Unfortunately, I have not found a better way to install the few playstore apps that I need without Aurora store. I guess using it in a different namespace (is that what Shelter does?) is an option. Great note

If I had more time and motivation, I'd go around photographing those houses and posting them on Google maps with a review

Yes, this was the the sense of FOSS in origen, buy not since big US companies, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, META, etc., appropriated FOSS, offering most of their products, even implementing their FOSS APIs in others (see Mozilla). Gogle with its Google Code and Experiments, Microsoft in Github.....this is dominance and FOSS gives them a cheap method in achieving it. I speak of independence of the US market, outside its influences, especially these globalplayers. This is why it is necessary to promote EU products, preferable FOSS, yes, but even if not, it is way better in privacy and user rights, by law, non -existent in US products. I am already bored of seeing in FOSS, which requires an account, the poster "Log in with Google". The time of My little Pony under the FOSS rainbow has gone since time, now it is Google and the US which control 80% of the web and with this hegemony it is urgent to end.

If I'm not mistaken the big missing privacy feature vs privacy.com is that you are still required to provide your real name and other accurate details as part of the transaction process.

Microsoft wants GPG/PGP dead and if it isn't in outlook, corporate won't use it and if corporate don't use it, there's no business incentive for services either.

There are definitely some privacy benefits I imagine, as you are not directly utilizing a user account and the YouTube UI. Now if you are asking if it is still possible for google or YouTube to track you the answer is yes, you are just making it slightly harder.

You can run it as a docker, pretty easily. Run this to generate your visitor_data and po_token https://github.com/iv-org/youtube-trusted-session-generator?tab=readme-ov-file#tutorial-with-docker-1 Paste those into your docker_compose.yml file in the appropriate fields. Also, generate a nice long string for the hmac_key https://docs.invidious.io/installation/#docker-compose-method-production This does give you an "identity" with YouTube, but you can generate new tokens as often as you want, replace them in your yml, and restart the container. One the container is running, update FreeTube settings abs change the "current invidious instanc" to http://localhost:3000/ Let me know if you get stuck.

Your own domain = freedom to choose any email provider Be that self host, proton, Fastmail, disroot, or just some forwarder or registrar hosted mail. Own the domain, own your provider
