Robert Downey Jr. Says Pedro Pascal’s Rise to Fame ‘Reaffirms My Faith in Our Industry’

I think it's mostly a combination of a) Hollywood liberals love to elevate safe non-white celebrities who don't rock the boat and b) there hasn't been much variety in leading men over the last decade (regardless of cultural/ethnic background) so people are enjoying seeing a new handsome face alongside the usual sex symbols like Ryan Gosling and Jake Gyllenhaal. I agree that Pascal is not really worthy of this level of hype on his performances alone.
The Mandalorian alone shows how good he is. He did 90% of it fully covered, all body and speech.
He crushes his role in game of thrones too.
He is a good actor with good range and more importantly he isn’t “stiff”

Who is it you’re talking about?
wrote on last edited by [email protected]Sinese, hes been all over reddit recently as an AMA. virtue signalling for vets. and hes wierd response to the gop slashing va funds, which is none.

Cherish these 2 cool men!

Using his platform to combat transphobia is nice.
He is the role model ally!
-
we need more guys like him to be role models for younger generations next to toxic dipshits like andrew tate
Yup, valuable men love and defend trans people!

Despite his similar look, when I watch him in mandalorian, narcos, got, or Last of us, i forget im watching an actor and get sucked into the character. To me that makes him one of the few this generation who can pull it off.
Also as a Latino love him and he’s proud to be Latino, unlike Oscar Isaacs who goes out of his way to erase his Latino background. Also love Diego Luna

wrote on last edited by [email protected]isnt it convenient that only came out as R, right before the election. its obviously its a way to drum up support for right winger voters. hes more or less likely hilaria baldwin, just because you visited spain doesnt mean your spanish, except in his case its a veterans hospital, he visited once and thinks hes one of the boys now.
and he was on reddit posting his "support" regurlarly too, and recently. he does support vets, but something about him coming out right before the eleciton makes its very disengenious. unlike jon stewart who has behind a supporter of vets for a number of years.
i think his most recent interview of why he left hollywood because of his son's death? and not because hollywood probably would bounced him because his right wing views eventually, because its obnoxious to hollywood movie fans.
a little more context on his reddit posts, its mostly about veteran pics, and his "support", which i find it very odd. and i dont believe he said anything about the gops constant assault on VA funding at all, which a lot of people think he was just shilling for the gop, it was early in reddit when he first started and came out as a "republican" last year.

How does that show he's good. I watched the first couple seasons and I think I wouldn't notice a bit if the actor under the mask changed.

We really don't need celebrity role models.
Celebrities are already role models by default; that's just how fame works. Do you want them to be good ones or bad ones?
