Tim Apple is literally a financial contributer to the Trump presidency. They are not being shy about their support. I'm Suprised it took them this long, but they've always been a bit behind with their maps project.

Hot take, but I'd actually be fine with the US calling it the Gulf of the Americas since it is a shared gulf by north and south America. There are examples like the south China Sea and the Persian Gulf that have different names depending on what country you are in. But calling it the Gulf of America is just dumb.
