I think it's just because the VA made the " I am sworn to carry your burdens" sound sarcastic.
I guess she's also disappointed easily, too, but I would honestly rather have the disappointed and sarcastic Lydia over some, like, bright and chipper version.
I'd say my personal issue with Lydia is that she doesn't seem to have much in terms of personality separate from her role as a housecarl.
But then, I never romanced her, so maybe I missed something.
