Trained two people in the use of firearms yesterday. Sunday, I hosted first aid training for a dozen people.
Next week, a general assembly for my block is happening, to plan gardens.
What are you doing or have done to actually reduce harm?

Also if you're too stupid to read I'm angry at people who were screaming 'genocide joe' and 'both sides bad'.
One side is far worse and these assholes can't bring themselves to admit it. Their strategy was 'all or nothing' and they're getting scorched Earth as a result.

You seem to think "desired outcome" is the same as "outcome I thought was achievable." They are completely different.

Shut the fuck up you tankie fuckwad. Go choke on Putin's dick just like you did with his propaganda.

Look, principally I agree with your comments under this post, but this one was more miss than hit. The "genocide on the other side of the planet" is no less meaningful than your domestic ones.

Casting a vote for anyone in the last election wasn't going to halt any genocide.
That was the problem.

No options offered any opposition, to our oligarchs.

So absolutely nothing that will stop the genocide in Palestine.
What I have done is spend hours of my time making calls, writing emails and going directly to the offices of politicians to demand they do something.
But sure, I haven't trained anyone not in Palestine how to use firearms or do first-aid training because those are 100% irrelevant.

The 40k+ dead under a dem president probably don't care one way or the other.

Are you fucking kidding me? Two additional genocides is not a bigger fucking deal than one already happening?

Quit spreading straight up lies you piece of shit. Amnesty warned of "risk of genocide" in the first days of the war and you pretend the americans didn't knew?
They didn’t need our help with it
So what? You still helped them.

So the answer is nothing. You've done nothing.
Not one phone call, not one form e-mail, let alone actually go somewhere.
How many Palestinians have you even talked to about their needs and desires?
-

Yes. I think if liberals didn't call people who couldn't bring themselves to vote pro-genocide "idiots" then the flame wars wouldn't go on.

You're the one I see calling people idiots right now.

The political process enables it.

Casting a vote for anyone in the last election wasn’t going to halt any genocide.
Fucking what.
You looking at the same Trump administration I'm looking at? Because the next four years have genocide on the domestic agenda.
Or is your argument that Harris would be 'just as bad'?

I haven't done that, like, at all.

Ah right, because US politicians care so much about calls and e-mails from Europeans who can't vote for them.
-
flyingsquid@lemmy.worldreplied to Guest on 5 Feb 2025, 10:48 last edited by
Plenty of European politicians support this war too. How many of them did you contact?
And you didn't answer my question about Palestinians. How many have you talked to about their needs and desires?

Oh, mitigate things in Palestine?
I send regular donations to groups there for aid.
What beyond that, do you suggest? Voting for a dem wouldn't have changed things for them. Neither do phone calls.
Intried the phone call route, letters, etc. I was told by my dem reps, that it's important for the US to maintain a strong security presence there, to protect Israelis.
