WDYM Russia had its way, "its way" is to destroy a (half) Russian-speaking country near it so that Russians wouldn't see an alternative daily that doesn't live based on Soviet mob rules. Why would a regime built on selling resources want to conquer its buyers? Who are still its buyers indirectly and sometimes directly, that's why they are not entering war.

You can't maintain that over a few years consistently if it really was a result of some tight schedule of a wartime leader or whatever. Such a person could be forgetting to shave sometimes, but not to the same degree every day, LOL.
