Then do it bitch, I don't care.
My job will literally not be affected and all the American companies we work with will just skirt the law to avoid tariffs because America or they will pay them.
Ain't no one taking down the true north strong and free

Trump warns that he's going to tank the US economy On Saturday

Crash these economies, with no survivors. (OK, bad day for that one.)
Until people see the results of fascism, it'll keep creeping and creeping. Right now it's a full throttle. Let. It. Run.
LMAO at Americans bitching about grocery prices. Well over half of us are getting plenty of calories. There won't be change, let alone revolution, as long as we're all fat, happy and something is on the tube.

If Trump puts tariffs on Canadian oil, Americans will see an immediate 5% price jump in all goods, even the ones not covered by tariffs.

Let’s talk about that summertime electricity from the north. Can Canada turn that off?

not_that_guy05@lemmy.worldreplied to Guest 25 days ago last edited by
As an American, I support the effort Canada and Mexico will do to fight back.

Guys I hope people haven't forgotten that the trump admin changed NAFTA when they were in previous term.
We are in this "unfair slump" because they can't even do a deal right.
WTF was it, something something art of the deal or something?
He will tank the US just like he tanked all his businesses.

I assume this is referring to his "Who knew healthcare could be complicated" comment 8 years ago that we have yet to hear his plan for after promising one in two weeks

"We don't need the products that they have but we might not tax oil coming from Canada... Because... We... Eeeh... Don't need it?"
-
kecessa@sh.itjust.worksreplied to Guest 25 days ago last edited by
Trump is considering not taxing oil but it would be very funny if Canada decided to tax the all oil exports to the US as a fuck you to Trump...
-
kecessa@sh.itjust.worksreplied to Guest 25 days ago last edited by
Oh don't worry, it's on the table, funny that this shit is happening not long after Quebec started exporting electricity to the US only to realize they should have kept that capacity for themselves because demand is only increasing... The problem might just solve itself!

Sort of. As I understand it, theres a pretty specific weight/grade/thickness of oil that can be refined into products. Most of the US oil is too thin. Most Canada oil is too thick. So we mix the two and viola!
It'd be nice if someone in Canada would build a refinery here. But then we'd have to import thin oil to mix with.
