Every day is a day off if you quit your job.

      Quitting is too much work.

Just stop working and see how long it takes for them to fire you.

I haven’t felt patriotic since the 90s. Every 4th feels like I’m surrounded by deluded people.

Yeah, patriotism always felt fucking weird as a kid growing up in the 90s.

I've been pretty ashamed of my country for a long time.

How I show up to work during my mandatory vacation:

            (there’s nothing there)

                I'm proud and ashamed
                Every Fourth of July
You got to know the truth
Before you say that you got pride

I work a 4/3, my normal weekends are long weekends. Stat holiday Mondays make for an extra long weekend. Canada Day was a Tuesday this year so I took Monday off and got a 5 day weekend in exchange for 1 vacation day.

9/11 ruined it for me, specifically the “proud to be an American”, flag on cars garbage—while we passed the Patriot act and started more wars.

Call it what it is: nationalism. I've been weirded out by it since I stopped saying the pledge of allegiance in elementary school.

Fun fact: the pledge was created as part of a campaign to sell more flags to schools.

Nothing to celebrate. Once you wake up to the reality of the world, nothing to celebrate.
