Are people in the US aware that they are now definitely a rogue state, or is this fact simply covered up by the usual patriotism?
-
This doesn't seem to be actually answering the question. The question was about how the US was perceived by other countries, not how Americans perceive their own government.
Huh?
Are people in the US
-
Yes, that's true. I'm more concerned with whether US citizens, whose past administrations more or less invented the term, can now recognize for themselves that they are no longer on the side of the "good guys" with this administration at all, but are now the "terrorists" themselves - the very thing that past US administrations denounced (entirely speciously, of course).
Myself and and a good number of people I know are very aware and horrified. Unfortunately this isn't necessarily the case outside of my social bubble. Since major media outlets aren't doing a great job, a lot of people are trying to spread the real news in a grassroots style.

No dictator has even chosen to give up power.
Taiwan's did: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Taiwan_(1945–present)
It was actually neat. The "hybrid" between dictatorial state funding and a democratic business environment all but established TSMC.
But, uh, we don't talk about that here I guess.
How is Ukraine a dictatorship?

We're inundated with propaganda. Our media is state run. All for-profit media is state run.

Yes, go on...
aware that they are now definitely a rogue state
The question isn't your awareness of what the government is doing. It's your awareness of how the US is perceived by the rest of the world. A rogue state is "a nation that is considered very dangerous to other nations". To answer that question, you have to reference other nations views on the US.

I don't think I agree, and many in the thread didn't get that idea. People outside of the US are obviously aware, the title is clearly asking if people inside of the United States are aware. Why would someone outside of the US have to ask if people outside of the US are aware? It makes no sense.

How can you be this confused?
You're basically proving the point of this meme.
The question is basically "Are Americans aware of how the world perceives them?"
Possible answers to that question are: "Yes, I read DW news in English, and BBC news too. I'm aware of how the world perceives the US." Or "No, I can imagine how the world must view the US, but I only read US news so I can only guess."

I don't think I'm the confused one here, to be honest with you, as shown by the other answers and upvotes in this thread. You do not have to specify non-US news to know that we're a rogue state - plenty of US media reports on it all the same. The question is clearly asking if Americans are aware that they're now a rogue state, and I answered appropriately.
It seems like maybe you don't want that to be the case, but my answer still stands: Yes, many Americans, especially in the PNW, are very aware of that fact. Americans in red states [the ones who watch Fox news especially] have their heads in the sand. You do not need to consume any media at all to be aware of that fact, it helps, but you don't require it to acknowledge it.
Please do not project your confusion of the prompt onto me, especially after other people answered in similar manners (and no one answered in the way you're describing).

Yes, other people were confused. That doesn't mean that you're not confused.
The question is clearly asking if Americans are aware that they're now a rogue state, and I answered appropriately.
No, what you answered was "How do Americans feel about being a rogue state?" That's a completely different question, even though it's the one most people answered.
I fully understand and acknowledge that we're seen as a rogue state externally
The question was whether Americans in general understood and acknowledged that. I would say no, because most Americans don't follow foreign news sources. People who are getting their news from Fox News, OANN and Newsmax are probably not aware of that. Instead, they probably think the US is even more respected than ever.

Once again, this is why I didn't generalize and said that the PNW is well aware of that fact, and red states have their heads in the sand. I'm not sure how many times I need to say that to make it clear to you that I answered the question appropriately. I specified how Americans are feeling to back my statement of them being aware or not. Do you think the PNW, in general, gets their news from right wing news sources?

How is Ukraine a dictatorship?
They paused elections, and Zelensky has some extraordinary wartime authority.
They aren’t really a dictatorship, of course, I’m just trying to illustrate that dictators can and have chosen to give up power… And it’s unfortunate that more don’t.

Their constitution states that elections won't be held during wartime. He's not disallowing elections, their foundation of government is disallowing them. Attempts to band ho,,as some kind of dictator are just propoganda.

Liberals will claim that they are furious at what's going on and then proceed to vote for another capitalist who perpetuates what's going on, all while refusing to listen to Socialists.

My point is that there are no "good guys" and "bad guys". There are only differing levels of power. The US has been doing a lot worse for a lot longer. It's just that past administrations were diplomatic about their use of power. This administration, being a reality TV star, is just choosing to be loud about it.
America under Biden supplied 80% of the bombs that Israel dropped on Gazan civilians. Obama led the illegal attack on Libya and killed Gaddafi and doomed Libya to anarchy and chaos. Bush destroyed Iraq and doomed them to anarchy and chaos- creating ISIS. I could go on and on.
Most American citizens (just like the citizens of virtually every country in the world) are not really concerned with geopolitics. They have to pay their rent, they're gonna be late for work, their kid is failing a class, their girlfriend is pissed because they don't go out enough, they're tired from work, they're working hard for that promotion, they're worried about rent increases, etc.
So to answer your question. No, Americans don't really care. And even if they care, they're forced to worry about more pressing individual matters. Basically the same thing that happened in your home country in the 1930s.

Elizabeth Warren-aligned.
Okay, that's like the worst answer to be able to tell lol. It'll heavily depend on what the branch is like. My local one? You'd be welcome, but a couple people would try to radicalize you.

Reporting on things outside of the leading party's agenda are not allowed in broadcast and print media. The leading party in the United States is the ownership class.
