Thanks, tells me what I needed to know. Even on Mastodon I only really use Hashtags on posts and not on replies so that tracks for personal usage.

As far as ActivityPub posts are concerned, how are Hashtags handled?

Is it just like normal and we add them in the posts?

In my head I was thinking of a Federated account like a WordPress blog that has ActivityPub installed and confirmed working. Everyone in the Fediverse can see it, but having it followed and posted in Forum puts it there in front of the Community for a more direct conversation.

I am gonna start installing and trying to figure out ActivityPub into my Drupal projects even if I am not thrilled with my previous dealings with that module.

So I was wondering if there was a way for me to have a Category follow a federated account.

I can't seem to find the way to do it if that's possible.

But optimally the category would post a topic related to the new posts the followed account would post. Or something like that.

Typos are the bane of my existence.

Found the problem double checking config.json

... I swear if all my problems are Typos I don't see until they are pointed out right at me by someone else or an error...

Apparently I was missing a comma on the port entry... Lovely.

So, I needed a second forum on the same server as I placed community.darkscribes.com. I setup a seperate directory in /var/www to contain a new code base, and set config.json for "port": "4568",

I made sure the new nginx config also looked for 127.0.0.1:4568

After starting it and ensuring certbit has deployed I am getting error 502 bad gateway.

Wondering where I went wrong here.

Always something with my fingers.

The number of times a problem I have is because of a typo...

Yes. I believe I have set the Fediverse group with view user and view posts. I haven't done a post yet though figuring that verifying Federation would be doable by searching my user.

Hi,

I recently got a basic forum setup and enabled the ActivityPub setting. Looking through the forums so far I found that I needed to set permissions for the Fediverse psuedo user. Which I did.

I am still unable to search the User Account I made on this server. I am trying to get Federation working before opening the server to registration.

Address is community.darkscribes.com and any other ideas would be appreciated. Will post a reply if I find a solution first.
