And technically you can still do that, but it's super laggy. Playing a game through X11 forwarding would be horrendous

The SN30 is about as close as you can get to that, I think. I have two, and use them for everything. They're basically SNES controllers with analog sticks. No paddles or other macro buttons. Just ABXY, dpad, start, select, shoulders, triggers and sticks. They do also make the Micro, but that might be too tiny even for a child. Dpad and face buttons only.

I have removed all the commands but it happens very rarely so I think I’ll need to give it a few days to definitively say it has fixed the issue

Now we only need someone to make a Linux handheld with an Nvidia GPU and then we'll finally get some decent drivers for gaming laptops (which, sadly, are pretty much Nvidia-only).

I know Roblox is not open source that's not the point. The thing is avoid sharing my account credentials with a third party software, if that software is not open source you don't know how they handle that data.

Yes, but that exponentially increases ongoing costs for hosting servers for the game to perform those extra checks, and unless you're one of the Valves of the world, you aren't going to have enough data for an automated system to work properly. Counter Strike effectively has had a server-sided anticheat since the latter half of Global Offensive's lifespan, but there are simply too many gaps in the armor - difficult to determine what counts as a violation with 99% certainty, false positives, automated peripherals used by players that "copy" real human players, and so on. In a perfect world, the answer to this problem would be community hosted servers ran by independent admins who could audit player activity and exercise human judgements. But that would severely limit the scale of games like the Finals, since both those who could stomach the cost of hosting and the quality of matchmaking would diminish. Even after those measures, it's not bulletproof. Ask RUST players, TF2 players, DayZ/Arma players, and so forth. Windows users are far more likely to be technically naive enough to install a cheat that will be detected by the kernel level anticheat, and the existence will also act as a deterrent and price increase on the cheat maker's side. The subset of Linux users who desire to cheat may not be affected by those changes, but other methods, like reporting, active memory checks, and pattern detection can still keep fair play. This can't just be a one stop solution. It has to be hybrid. Otherwise the scale of PVP multi-player games we see today is impossible to maintain.

When installing a new kernel, you basically stop getting kernel updates from the main repository, right? I really have to look into all this a bit more I guess.

Nice :3 I mostly just reinstalled it cause I couldn't be bothered dealing with the permissions of flatpak, it's definitely not a viable solution for everyone, I just figured I'd throw in my experience haha

To be honest I think most issues Intel Arc has under Linux just come down to the tiny user base. Intel provides solid Linux support, I'd say it's probably on par with AMD. Proton and such will have more incompatibilities, as will Mesa. You can report issues with specific games in Valve's proton repository. Sometimes someone will have a workaround for you, and usually issues will be fixed eventually, especially if you're willing to test changes and provide feedback.

Inside game properties, Under game compatibility (or whatever it was called) you can switch to Proton.

I mean if that's the case I'll switch back to Windows just to remind Satya of what his company's name truly means.

A bit of a downside is that the minimum driver requirements are pretty aggressive at the moment, so people could be stuck using WineD3D without realising it. But I suppose crashing isn't really much better. And people who play games should use a distribution that moves pretty quickly in general.

Ohh okay, when people pushed it as distro for gaming my mind did think about custom kernel optimised for gaming. I was really hoping it was something like that but yeah you are right I have seen and heard about diferent distros running some games better on Linux so the kernel is already there. Anyway the good news from all this is people who used windows primarily for gaming is now shifting to Linux whatever the flavour it may be.

Tekken 7 is on Steam and rated gold on ProtonDB. However the minimum system requirements look to be pushing your system so I don't think you should bother with it. Definitely don't try emulating it as that's even more difficult. Tekken 3 you can indeed emulate on the PSX. Download Duckstation from Flathub and learn to set it up. An alternative to Duckstation that can play more systems is RetroArch. Find the game from the ROMs Megathread or Vimms Lair. Good controllers that work on Linux can be found from Gulikit, 8bitdo, Retro Fighters.
