I thought you was the more respectful form of thou in singular, and “ye” was the plural form of that. In Ireland you still hear ye used for plural you sometimes. Originally the difference between ġē→ye→ye and ēow→yow→you wasn't one of number, but of case: you'd use "ye" for the subject, "you" for the subject, regardless of being a plural or a respectful singular. Much like "I" vs. "me". Eventually however "you" displaced "ye" even for the subject role, in most varieties; what you see in Hiberno English is also an innovation, but a different one.

Ohio has lost its relative population and economic significance in recent years, but historically it was a pretty significant state. To give an idea in terms of # of representatives in the House: Ohio had more/equal reps compared to California until the 50s, Texas until the 60s, and Florida until the 90s. Its numbers have been very close to Illinois for the past century also. The collective cultural awareness of cities in such a state holds inertia for a while, and Ohio still has a decent population despite some decline.

I almost was kicked out of an ethics class. Because a girl got triggered that I defended artists who might draw Lolita imagery. I have no love for what they do. But I explained to the class. That any censorship of art would open up doors to destroy any art considered risqué. Sensitive children shouldn’t be in college if they can’t accept that their world view is always right.

Actors usually don't really eat in TV shows, they just pretend, or they hold food on a fork and gesture with it. The reason is to maintain continuity. Eating changes how the food looks. So when multiple takes are edited together you might see somebody bite off the corner of a piece of toast and then 3 seconds later it's a whole piece again. Some people make a minor hobby of spotting continuity errors like that.
