Casual Conversation

Share a story, ask a question, or start a conversation about (almost) anything you desire. Maybe you'll make some friends in the process.

RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on [email protected]
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

Burnout in an objectively decent career. (I have all the money I need, how the fuck do I still feel unhappy?)

Yeah, and also sometimes the best thing you can do for others is to take care of yourself. Just go do what you need to.

In my case it was a combination of fear, and misery being comfortable. What's your reasoning?

Full disclaimer: I don't date so I am talking about in friendships in general. Being over-apologetic. And by that I mean they are quick to apologize any potential conflict. Apologizing is a good thing, however if they consistently go out of their way to apologize without you even mentioning anything was wrong, chances are there are more dark/nefarious plays at hand such as manipulation. I have missed that flag a few times in friendships and they ended up turning toxic over time. Some were recoverable, some wern't

Now most of the cars come with an anti-puncture kit that injects a liquid with an air pump that seals the puncture from the inside. It’s purpose is to be a temporary fix and you have the same limitations a with the donut tire, however it is more costly to fix the puncture because they have to clean all the shit injected and any remaining can degrade the tire from the inside. My car (Toyota Yaris 2015) came with said kit, it also has the space for the donut tire, however the manufacturer used it for storing shit that if I put the tire I need to have the other things moving freely and occupying space in the trunk.

No need to feel sorry - sometimes we need to vent out, that's only human. Some "fluctuation" in self esteem is normal. The problem here is the range, it's going all the way into suicide idealisation, that is not good. If you didn't yet, I'd suggest you to check this with a psychiatrist. About kids working together to solve video game problems: that's always a joy to watch, isn't it?

I've been awakened from my house-hunting slumber by a house that has everything I want, and is actually somewhat affordable (compared to other similar properties, but still, yeesh this market)... Except it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in about 40 years. Going to an open house tomorrow. In all the photos, every single window and door is wide open, so I'm expecting maybe some kind of smell that might change my opinion, but it looks like it wouldn't be too much effort to clean it up and finally move up from my tiny apartment... I'll probably get outbid by 30% like the last couple times, but I won't know until I try!

We were at a party and my youngest, who was around 3 years old at the time, came running up to me, all excited, to yell "her look like a PIG! Like a PIG, mommy!" very loudly while jumping up and down and pointing at a girl, who, to be fair, did have a turned up nose that looked distinctly porcine. My kid did not mean this as any sort of insult at all, she was delighted by finding a girl who looked like a pig. Oh no.
